It’s been a real fun two weeks under reservist training – no need to think too much, just do our best and suffer together under the hot sun. Thankfully, we had an off day on Thursday due to the military burning one Sunday during the two weeks (the military is pretty smart, by giving us a day off in lieu of a burnt weekend, there is no need to pay us extra allowance), and a few of my platoonmates and I decided to visit one of our platoonmates, who was down with chickenpox one day after going into the jungle, and gave him a DVD, a Doraemon toy, and a magazine to tide over the boredom at home. One of our platoonmate have not caught chickenpox, and did not enter the flat, so he stayed outside in the corridor to talk – supposedly to avoid being fired at work after coming back from reservist.
We went to catch Eagle Eye after the visit. Overall a pretty exciting, action-packed movie, but somehow I felt that there was something missing in the movie, although it was fine overall. Dinner was at the food court, and I followed up with a Sundae Basket of pistachio, chocolate chip and cappucino ice-cream at Gelare. The ice-cream was good, but not as good as the two outlets (so far) I’ve discovered along Adam Road and Dunearn Road. Time to explore more ice-cream places to eat when I’m free.
