Air Pistol Course @ Sembawang CC

Air Pistol Course @ Sembawang CC

Got a last-minute call from Sembawang CC this morning around 0940 telling me that the course is on Saturday instead of Sundays. Luckily I didn’t have anything on today, so I rushed off from home to the Community Centre. Reached there just in time, and had to pay an extra $6 material fee (Didn’t draw much cash because…I was rushed. And there are NO ATMs AT THE CC.), which was understandable. Quite fun to play with the pistol (a Beretta M9). I learnt 3 different types of firing positions (isosceles,Weaver and a mix of the two which I forgot the name), gun safety & handling and the 3 grading techniques for shooting – speed, accuracy and power (which is not used in airsoft version of air pistol shooting). Like the ATP in the SAF, Its easy to shoot straight, but to hit the target is difficult, especially when you have to change target and re-aim it. Also, you just need two shots to hit the (cardboard) target to get a count. Attire is important also – safety glasses need to be worn (Must…get…Oakley M Frame…argh…$$$) and most of the time, you need to run around and draw the pistol from the holster from your belt, so its advisable to wear shoes and tuck in. Overall it was a fun day, too bad there wasn’t anyone to take photos. Can’t wait till next Saturday
