Sensitive Dad-Son Talk Part MMV

My dad was driving me to camp 2 weeks ago when he started “Sensitive Dad-Son Talk Part MMV”

Dad: Son, you are getting old. You are almost 21 now. I will be handing over your life insurance policies to you (ummm, right…more money to pay each month -_-). When you go out to work, don’t mix with bad friends and get into trouble (I don’t get into trouble, trouble usually finds me!). Don’t drink too much, don’t smoke, don’t get addicted to drugs and don’t womanize (I can start to assume that every stranger I meet on the streets smokes, drinks, does drugs and has STDs). I’m getting old now, and I will have to retire from my job someday. Even if there was a job for me, I won’t work for long. You understand me or not?

Me: Erm. OK.

I finally started driving (again) at BBDC last weekend. Surprisingly civillian cars are easier to drive than a land rover. I still need to get used to the car though, I keep missing the gear shift lever when I reach out to grab the gear.

Went to the Times Bookshop warehouse sale at Expo and Kinokuniya Orchard yesterday. Got GITS 2 and FMP Overload (both are expensive English-translated Made in USA books). Also saw FMP 9 and Bleach 18, both Japanese versions are out. Would you believe THBP (Harry Potter & The Half Blood Prince for you Muggles) was going for about $41, and with the 20% discount, it’s down to about $32? Good things come when you’re patient, heh heh. Too bad I didn’t buy it, and I only realized it when I was on the way to Expo. Got a few books there, mainly the IT Ethics Handbook, .NET Game Programming in C#, After Effects 6.5 in Production and Hardware Hacking. Total cost of about $26. Retail price for each book ranges between $40 to $80.
